I am a playwright and fiction writer. My fiction has appeared in The New Quarterly, Room, Agnes and True and The Antigonish Review. My story "Somewhere Warm, With No Snow" was nominated by Agnes and True for the 2016 Journey Prize, and "Count Your Blessings" was a runner-up for the 2020 Peter Hinchcliffe Short Fiction Award.

 

The Maple Leaves, a WWI drama based on real-life concert party groups, premiered at SpringWorks, Stratford's juried indie theatre and arts festival, in May 2013. It received two awards: "Best of SpringWorks 2013 (Adult Programming)" and "Best Marketing Campaign." The Antigone Project was developed with the support of Nightwood Theatre's Write From the Hip program under the guidance of Director/Dramaturge Andrea Donaldson. A public reading of the play was held as part of Nightwood's 2015 Groundswell Festival. A public reading of my latest play The Salvation Business was part of the 2018 SpringWorks Festival.

My short film "The Biffy" was a Top Five Finalist for the Shore Scripts Short Film Fund and was also a semi-finalist for the 2019 BlueCat Short Screenplay Contest. 

 

I completed an MFA in Creative Writing through UBC (Optional Residency program) where I had the opportunity to work on my fiction with Nancy Lee, Annabel Lyon, Alix Ohlin, and Charlotte Gill. I previously completed Humber College's Creative Writing By Correspondence Program in 2014, earning a Letter of Distinction (mentor Miranda Hill). I've studied with Vern Thiessen and was a participant in Brad Fraser’s Finding Fresh Voices workshop. I'm a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and have been a Teaching Assistant for Sarah Selecky's The Story Intensive.
